SeT LMS ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

Account Information: Name, username, email address, role (student/instructor/institution), profile photo, and institution affiliation.
Academic Data: Grades, quiz scores, exam results, activity submissions, attendance records, and course enrollments.
Communication Data: Chat messages, notifications, and booking requests between users.
Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and search queries for improving the platform.
Payment Data: Booking amounts, payment references, and earning records (no credit card numbers are stored).
Why We Collect It
Account Operation: To create and maintain your account, authenticate your identity, and provide role-based access.
Educational Services: To deliver courses, track academic progress, generate grades, and issue certificates.
Marketplace Services: To connect students with tutors, process bookings, and manage payments.
Platform Improvement: To understand usage patterns and improve features, performance, and user experience.

Local Storage: We use browser local storage for sound preferences and UI state. This data never leaves your device.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Academic records may be retained longer for certification and verification purposes.
If you request account deletion, we will deactivate your account and remove personal identifiers within 30 days. Anonymized academic data may be retained for platform analytics.

Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including password hashing (bcrypt), HTTP-only session cookies, CSRF protection, rate limiting, and regular automated backups. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized administrators.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only within the platform context: instructors see student grades and submissions, institutions see enrolled student data, and marketplace users see limited profile information as needed for tutoring services. We do not share data with third-party advertisers.
